Do all 400ex's have the same chain length? I have an 05 and just wanted to make sure that it also requires a 94 link 520 chain, same as the older ones, thanks.

What chain do you think is best. Won't stretch much, price, look, etc.

theres a company that sells the combo I think its $320 guaranteed to never break, stretch or wear out. If it does and your using their sprockets its a free replacement or money back idk something like that. Cant remember the name off hand

D.I.D x-ring ATV chain is a good chain. I've used them for several years and they hold up incredibly well.

I bought an R K non oring chain off ebay for 20 bucks and after taking too many links out and having to go 2 teeth smaller on my back sprocket I got it to fit and it works great so far but if you've got the cash I would go with the D.I.D x ring also.

I'm using a Primary Drive gold X-ring and have never adjusted it yet and its almost going on 3 years, also have the sprockets and they have been great also.

To go that long seems like your not riding it anuff I go though sprockets every 6-8 months a chain once a year to year and a half before its worn out Im sure i could ride it longer but it would chew up new sprockets fast, you should change chain once a year IMO.if you ride alot!
