View Full Version : fan nightmare help!!!!

ok so i have an 05 450r fan doesnt turn on neither does light tried the whole grounding the sensor wire still nothing and hooked both the wire and light up to 12 volt power both worked fine changed cdi boxes still nothing and my lights go on and off but motor runs perfect anyone know were myproblem is? any help would be greatly appreciated

Has the key switch been removed?

have you cut your carb wiring off?i cut mine thinking it wasnt inportant and the fan stopped working.

if you cut the wires jsut hook all the black ones togther and the other wires are not needed.its a good way to clean up your harness.and if you do that youll have to ground out the temp sensor wire.and your fan should work.if you need more help just pm me.

no all wiring is stock including my switch had a kill switch but thought it was the source of my problem so i removed it with no luck yet

my fan barley works but sometimes it kicks on... havnt figured it out yet either

bought a whole dif harness today hopefully will be getting it by the end of the week if that doesnt help will prolly get a rectifier too and if that doesnt work im gonna ride it off a cliff and hopefully it will work then

haha you know how many times dealing with electrical that ive wanted to jump it off a cliff...i just stopped messing with it if it still runs i just ride it

yah but i race 1 hour cross country races sometimes 2 hours and i keep trying dif wires so i can run it off the motor but cant find a wire with enough juice runnin through it hopefully that harness is my answer

Is the motor bad? I've replaced mine. Try putting juice from a battery right to it and see if it spins fast.

yes it spins very fast hooked up to 12 volts

ok guys figured out what the problem was and how to find and fix it i started at the rectifier 14 volts coming from the red wire then u trace it to the front under the hood wich happens to be the red wire goin to the key switch checked the rest of the wired coming outa the switch nothing after stripping down some wire the black wire was only attatched by one strand so i hot wired the switch by connecting the red and black and grounding the green and capping the kill wire problem solved and thanks to everyone for thier help also
