08 up tank cover

what has to be done to put that tank cover on a 06-07 or a 04-05 trx??

I could be wrong so dont take my word for positive but i think you also need a 08 tank. I have heard the 08 tanks are a little bit smaller/different shaped so its not just buying the cover and it slipping over.

correct, the 08 tanks are smaller and designed different, i tried slapping the cover over my 05 tank and it doesnt work at all, about 1/2" of the tank shows at the bottom and sides

Will an 08 tank fit on an 05 with 05 plastics? if not would 08 plastics and tank fit on an 05?

it works, not a perfect fit but this is my 07 with one, its hardly noticable unless your looking for it, either way i like it, if you get it theres only a few self explainatory places to trim and it fits well.

how does the front plastic bolt up, and can you take it on and off like if i have other graphics underneath and want to put on diff plastics

sjorge - i got them this winter for the rebuild, did the whole bike, and i got SPASTIC graphics now haha, the white stuff i sold to my friend. and yes the tank cover comes off easily

oh alright...Its been a while since i had seen your bike. I wish i could afford/have the time for a rebuild. I gotta tear my R down this summer so I can clean everything real good. It seems as if thats the only way to do it, and I usually do that during a rebuild.

It looks alright in my opinion. Most people wont even notice it. This is also an 07 and the plastic mounts up the same, the hole on the cover line up with the original holes with as little convincing.

yea but i think it looks pretty crappy in person, seeing ur pics they dont look too bad and i like it but when i tried mine there was too much of a gap so i didnt even bother with it

Yeah I wasnt asking about the cover... I meant the actual tank.

Thats good! when you get more time could you compare them to whatever tires you were running before or have ran in the past? Thanks
