Correct way to change oil in a 400ex

What is the correct way to change the oil in 04 400ex Ive heard a few stories and want to know if its right thanks

warm it up before you change it. take the crank case and oil tank drain bolts out and let it flow. then there is always oil still in the oil filter. remove the cover and it will pour out.
