Gear Selector Loose

Hey everyone im new here i just got my first 250r.

Anyway my gear shifter is loose and there is no more play left in it to tighten it

I was thinking about taking it off and grinding the slot out more to give it more play, but i wasn't sure if that was a good way to do it or not , please let me know ... thanks.

That will work fine, I do it to mine. Just be sure you don't grind too much.

ya that will work great but if it has been ran too long with it loose the splines might be worn off, so check that before you go do a bunch of modifing, i believe a 450r shifter works too and its cheaper if you are going to be buying off ebay.
