9 year old quad, have you ever rebuilt the motor? If not I would have to assume its a little tired. By the way it is a nice looking machine.

the bad thing about the 2000-2002 400ex's is that the market is flooded with them. i see them a lot in the $1200 to $1500 range. with a new top end and a cam you should be able to break $2000

Well if it means anything to you, I just sold a 2004 400ex w/pro armor nerfs, pro-taper handle bars, pro-armor swing arm skid plate, ims front bumper and works tripple rate shocks that were only rode on once. All this for? pm me if you want to know. The machine had about 100 hours on it. PS-I also gave him all the stock parts to go with it and two service manuals. It was in great condition and I wasnt getting many inquiries for it. I attributed this to the economy. The guy who bought it got a steal. But in turn I sold it and did not have it just sitting around not being used.

its a shame. but you gotta think all those people that bought these new are ready for new ones....your best bet will to find someone that understands all parts and work you have done

my plan is to sell it and buy a cr250. i don't wanna get rid of it but it just don't give me the rush anymore. i'll won't have near as much time next year to ride so i'm just gonna go to a bike. someday i'll prolly pick up a 400ex again but just not anytime soon.
