Oh... I'm drooling...

I'm planning my XC setup on my black R...

So I'll have some questions...

OK... I'm trying to make my choices slowly so I don't have regrets with my add-ons...

The thing that is killing me most right now is that I need skid protection, and I have not decided which way to go.

I have PRM stuff on my 400EX and I'm satisfied. But I have read that the fitment is not as good on the KFX... and something about hose clamps?

So I am looking at PRM, Pro Armor, Moose, and one other I can't think of the name of.

I'm also worried about rather or not I will need a rear link like I did on my 400EX, but my full swinger skid protection didn't allow for it.

Also, as far as front bumpers, I like your PRM. I do some night riding and I have not decided on what I'll be doing for lighting, but I'm thinking I don't want to block the stock lighting area. Doesn't look like your Edge bumper would be in the way. Is that correct, or are my eyes playing tricks?

Polaris has had the GT Thunder type setup for years. My '99 model has it on the sprocket and brake disk. Just a single ring though.

It has it's positives and negatives....

Positives...
Good ground clearance
Pretty good protection of those particular items
It's rolling forward on impact and can roll you right across something

Negatives...
Man I'd hate to feed something into the chain
Sharp objects can poke into things
Does not protect anything else

Oh... and can we talk tires for the R?

Looks like you have Razr2 fronts, plus iRazr and Razr2 or X-Rex rears?

I have holeshot HD rears on 3 +6 Baja rims on my 400EX. I tried those on my Kawi and the bike is really really loose with those on. That setup seems to slide too easy on the KFX.

I find that odd... and I know I have some learning to do on tire selection for this bike.

I have run I razors and X rex's both have their advantage but I like the I razor the best

Cool....

Now, what kind of rear suspension setup are you running?

I haven't even adjusted on my stockers yet to see if I can dial them in better for my 200 lb weight. (been raining too much)

I've also been holding off on ordering protection for out back because I do not know if I will need any sort of rear linkage or not....

I still have just the stock rear shock.. Never been revalved but works pretty good for me.. I have the compression set slow and the rebound about 1/2 way i think .
