I know a lot of people have used them, so I'm curious if anybody else has found the bolts to be a little long everywhere.

Has it caused any problems?

I have used them on all my bikes.

I take the kits that you get (even if they are prepacked and labeled) and mix em all together and start from scratch.

Ive never used em all, since I dont ride in the dirt, no skid plates and other stuff like that.

In some instances you might have to double washer them.

What bolt kits have you guys been using?

Thanks,

I went to Fastenal and bought a bag of 50 for the staor and clutch covers. Some were to long so I just ran the right size metric die down on them and then hacksawed them to length. Filed off any sharpedges and then ran the die off of them. Easy as cake!

Here's the best place I've seen for stainless bolts so far, they have a catalog with prices shown too:

I don't like stainless steel bolts, unless you actually NEED them (I use them on my boat).

Stainless steel bolts are not as strong as a normal Grade 5 bolt (or grade 8.8 in metric). They stretch easily, and they sieze easily because the threads fall apart.

This is true^^^^^^^ You gotta be careful of what you use your stainless bolts on!

Forget the stainless bolts and order a kit from atv innovations. That's what I used and the bolts are quality zinc plated.

They DO make higher grade stainless bolts, despite what you guys may think. That's a pretty big generalization saying all stainless bolts are weaker....

The link I posted has everything from hardware grade(found in a lot of stainless bolt kits) to 8.8 to 10.9.

Im also using the Atv innovations kits. The A-Arm bolts seem kind of extra long, but I do not see any issues yet. Ill let you know once the bike is all together.
