I would like to spend between $100 and $175, if possible.

No way I can justify the money I spen t on my Arai or Shoei for getting muddy and banged up, lol

Thanks for the recommendations, guys!

Check out Newenough.com, I buy a lot of my street gear there and they have an awesome return policy

I got a HJC AC-X3 Titan carbon fiber helmet from cyclegear.com for $199. It's normally $420!! Best helmet I've ever had. Only weighs 2.5lbs! I have Oakley Crowbar goggles and I am happy with them.

I'd find a fox v3 on clearance like rob 990 did. That's what I was going to get to replace mine but then my whole electrical system decided to take a dump at the same time

I agree, get a Fox V3 on clearance for $170. Normally a 350 dollar helmet like he said. Excellent helmet and very light weight.

I have found some Fox V3's for around $150. I don't care if they are last years model, that makes no difference to me.

I was wondering about the light sensitive goggles, too. I am sensitive to the sun, and always have to pop for expensive sunglasses. These might help.......

RM has the same helmet I bought. It is a Fox Tracer for only $69.99. I bought mine on Ebay for a little more than that. I thought it was a pretty good deal.

they make a world of difference. i didn't think they would when i seen them in the package. but i kept an open mind. they are green in low light and turn blue in higher light. they didn't seam like then cut back the glare a bunch at first but that was until i took them off for the first time after a long ride. now i don't know how i rode without them. i love those things. i think they help alot.
they were recommended to me by a buddy that says the same thing, he wouldn't ever ride with out them again.
