Blaster(slightly modded) vs. 400ex(stock)

alrite my friend had a blaster 02' and he has a procircuit pipe on it, and hes yappin about it goin 64:huh with juss that slip on

now a 400's average top speed is 62.4mph hes sayin his blaster will go 64... he bullshytin me??? if hes not wil he be able to beat me with a 400 stock??

if a bored warrior doesnt have chance against my bros stock 400ex a blasturd doesnt either, its not close, but the 64 mph things. I thought top speed doesnt change at all unless gearing is changed.

well im listenin to a kid whose got a 70 as his school average... hes not the sharpest knife in the drawer, so i shoulda never believed him when he said that his Blaster goes 64 with a slip on, that i didnt notice it made a difference when i rode it;)

my freind clocked me with his snowmobile and it clocked me as going 62 and i kill blasters so they must hit about 50ish

haha 70 average i would be proud of that...i got way below a 70 average...just cause i dont try all that hard..but just because a person isnt smart in bookwork doesnt mean they dont know what they're talkin when it comes to motors..quads etc etc...but i do agree the blaster will get smoked..

i had a 2000 blaster ,i had fmf exhaust ,rad valve,no air box,rejetted carb,milled head on my blaster and i got smoked by stock 400 ex"s. thats why i sold it and bought a 400 ex.it also can climb hills my blaster would not go 1/2 way up. the blaster will get smoked

No Competition, the 400ex will beat the blaster. My buddy has a blaster bored almost to a 240 i think ?? i dunno, my 300ex could beat it, and now my 400ex blows its wheels off.

Back in the early '90's I had a Blaster. I put some mild mods on it like reeds, Wiseco piston, jetted the carb and opened up the airbox. But I also upped the gearing so that I could climb hills in second gear where third gear stock would usually bog down and second gear stock was too slow. It made a big difference in top end, too. My buddy followed me in his Mustang GT and said that I had topped out at 65 mph! I know there will be those who will think that this is BS and I can understand why, but I can assure you that this is true. This kid who claims his Blaster can smoke a 400 EX may indeed be taking an illegal substance, but they are definetly capable of more than 45-55 mph as some may think. Stock I am not real sure of a Blaster's top speed as I modded mine as soon as I got it. My Blaster would've lost in a drag race against my 400EX, but not by that much.

My friends and i were screwing around one day and he has a 1983 350R and this thing hauls some rearend. and it will hit like 85-90 in 6th gear and so we decided since it has a speedo on it we would see how fast our 300's went. well we did it and it was about 60. so there is no way it can only go 49-53 and that was stock and if you want to come down to bloomington-normal IL we will show you that it goes about 60.

what does that have to do with a Blaster vs. a 400ex??

What kind of "beating" are you talking about? A blaster has a 6 speed, so it has an extra gear on ya, but I'm not sure what the final drive ratio is, or if a blaster can even wind out 6th gear on most surfaces. Your EX would definately smoke it in a drag race but who knows, maybe on top speed (after a mile or two :D ) he'd pass you. You definately have the horsepower advantage.

The blaster slip-on thing confuses me. A blaster is a 2 stroke, i've never seen someone put an aftermarket silencer on a stock 2 stroke pipe and expect it to make a difference. That's reserved for 4 strokes. Most people get a different pipe.

cause the only flat drag we ahve is the quarter mile one thats mostly small gravel then switches to a paved type thing

No what i'm saying is, if his blaster was geared to do 62 or whatever, and if he had enough power to pull gearing that tall (which I really doubt a blaster has), he could conceivably pass you given enough road, but you'd have much better acceleration and kill him up until your top speed. It's kind of like a lot of those Bonneville land speed cars, they are geared so tall they would suck in the 1/4 mile, but on top speed given a long enough track they'll kill ya.
So I was asking what do you want to beat him at? A drag race or top speed?

well both... the gravel road is exactly 1/4 mile, and it connects to a road with like 3 turns that u can glide through and thats juss short of another 1/4 mile

so do u think i can win both??
