i need serious help!!! i have a friend is cocky as cam be and he keeps saying his cr125 is faster than my 400ex. please reply...the dirtbike is stock...and my 400 well the mods are below

The bike should have more top end then the ex. At least my buddies yz125 with a pro circuit pipe and silencer was faster than my ex with full exhaust, kn, 18" rears, stock sprockets choke mod to carb.

as much as you might not like to hear it!! i am pretty sure that bike would beat you. my little brothers cr125 is faster than my 416.

Not knowing the experience of each rider personally...I would have to say the bike would be quicker...sorry to say...

2 stroke vs 4 stroke, no contest tbh.

My friend had a CR250 bored .40 over and a procircuit pipe. He killed my 400ex, I was in maxed out gear wise and he was only in 3rd.

the little cr85 has a very high power to weight ratio, so if your buddy is a small guy, I wouldn't put any money on the 400ex winning if i were you.

as long as the guy can ride


I have an 03 cr125 with a few mods and 2 400ex's that are lightly modded and my cr125 will kill my 400ex's. The cr125 makes somewhere in the 35hp range give or take and it only weighs 200lbs....you do the math

the cr85 is prob pretty close on power to weight ratio compared to the cr125.

in my experence unless your riding more than a quarter mile or so the cr will be quicker but if your on a long strait eventually u will past a kx cr and yz 125s i have and most of the quads that ride with me do but the cr 250s you wont even see them until you reach your destanation

even with the engine work i have done to my 400ex my cr125 still beats the hell out of it, top end and acceleration, even with a -4 tooth back sprocket.
