Ok guys, after reading everything on here and on a few other places, I decided to buy more 8 year old boy a 90cc. Yeah I know I should have went with the 125 but I got a great deal on this one, so it will have to do for now.

Any who, I have one quick question. Well maybe two.

The little exhaust restrictor thing that keeps it nice and quite has got to go. Once removed, does anyone have a good guess on what jet to take it to? Im in ohio, about 1500 feet elevation!

Also, what kinda of carbs do these things run? I will most likely be upgrading here soon, but for now I'm gonna stick to this one until he gets used to the quad.

Any help is greatly appreciated and Im sure you'll be seeing me on here more and more with questions!

i'm not sure but the 90 and 125 use everthing the same except for the motor. when you are ready to upgrade go with a manual clutch motor. i just installed a 140 evos motor from t/bolt usa for $300.00. it does not come with a carb i had a oko 26mm carb so i bought the intake manifold for $40.00 i think!! but i would buy the mikuni 26mm. you should not have more than 300 for the motor and 150 for the carb and manifold.this thing really rips!!! you also can put a 160 kit on it and a bigger head and beat anything on the track. we only ride at the dunes for now but i cant wait to go to the dirt to see how thing really performs. planetminis.com is the best place for these types of motors

i agree. i finally go the 160 kit on the 140. wow what a difference. i personally like the 160 with a big bore and v2 head better. but bank for the buck a 140 with a 160 is awsome. and you can still use the xr style exhaust. not have to switch to the klx style exhaust.

Motor swap will be down the road a bit. He is only 7, so I want him to get used to a good bike before I give him to much power.

Today I swapped out that crappy excuse for a thumb throttle they use and stuck a 400ex throttle on it. I also cut a few coils out of the sping and he says its way better now. I must agree.

Nest step is to fab up a skid plate for this thing. I have found that an old road sign cut and mounted works great on bigger quads so I'm going to start off with that. I'll post up some pics once Its done.

Last thing for now is replacing the shifter with one from a blatser. A guy that I do some powdercoating for has an extra laying around so thats another cheap mod to make things easier for him.

I have been researching a new rear shock for it as well, not sure I wanna blow the cash for a fox yet, but I would like to get something with some adjustment. He seems to bounce around a little more than he should at speed.

I'm wondering if anyone can revalve the stock shocks. I put a set of Elka's on my sons and he has to race in the Modified class because of it. If they can be revalved I'm going to go that route.

This is what I made for my son's 125, it's a lot easier for him to use a heel shifter but when he gets older he can use it both ways...just throwin some ideas out there!
