I like the foam filters. More than once ive seen Kn's let stuff past especially in dusty conditions. Not worth the extra 1/2 horspower if you ask me . ALot of my buddies swear by them though so to each his own...

K&N have been good to my machines. my friends that ride motocross bikes say uni are better so... i guess the dyno may help, but a damaged motor is also a concern.

i say K&N with outerwears.

i too agree that the foam filters are best in dusty/sandy envirinments. every bike that i've dealt with that had the k&n on it had dirt in the intake tract. even if cleaned regularly. i juss cant bring myself to use em even for more hp's

your motor isint worth a horse or two maybe. Use a foam with a outerwear and if you clean it regularly you will be fine. k&ns are better for cars because they dont drive in sand and dust. my pops has one on his craptor. and when he took it off theere was dirt in the intake. and he had an outerwears on it. be sure to oil it thourugly inside and out.

I've been running a K&N for quite some time with the outerwear without any problems. BUT, after I pulled the motor apart last time, I'm seeing a pitted piston. I was doing a lot of pit time, but also, my outerwear was ripped. I'm thinking about switching to a UNI this year.
