i'm looking into jetting it seems that is a very important mod. to do so i was hoping to get some help. i've read quite a few posts on this topic so i'm starting to understand it some. i took the bowl off the carb to find out what jets i have 38 & 148. the main jetting seems strait forward just get the next 5 sizes larger, but not sure which pilot to get . any info will help this newbee thanks

I would not even mess with a pilot unless you are out like 4 turns on the fuel/air screw. Otherwise a main a few sizes bigger and about 3 turns out on the f/a would be good for what you have with the exhaust and filter. If you want to convert it i used a dynojet 138 with my slip on t-4 and a k and n. If you go the carb and tuning thread there are many different setups and you can most likely find one just like yours. it is a good starting point then do a plug chop and check it out. steve

i just used it for example purposes so he could cross reference them I would just buy some from your local shops if they have them otherwise get some from jetsrus steve.

thanks for the replys. i'll be picking up some jetts tonight so i guess i'll see how it goes. whats the deal with the main jet it has a nutt on it and looks like it is adjustable?? also should i change both jetts at the same time or change one ride the bike than change the other to make sure its going in the right direction??

Start off with your base then run a plug chop. Work up from there.

The one with a nut that looks adjustable could be a dj. they have a sleeve and then a seperate jet that screws into it. I am not sure otherwise. oh and evil tag, you are it now. LOL steve

when you look at the needle with the point down you will see 5 grooves with the clip in one of them. You are probably safest putting it in the middle slot.
