I obviously have some viruses (or something) because I keep getting a whole bunch on annoying pop ups. Sometimes I'm not even on the internet and they come up.


Can anyone direct me to free spyware removal or pop up blockers or something.

Run these 3 programs/scanners.
These three programs will find the majority of the stuff out there.

They are all free.

AdAware
http://www.lavasoft.com/
Spybot
http://www.safer-networking.org
PC-Cillin (Online virus / trojan scanner)
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp

I'm a PC tech and these 3 programs make my life much easier when cleaning out clients trashed computers.

And when you are done, make sure to run Windows update and download all critical security patches.
Will help keep things out in the future.

Also, download AVG free edition antivirus from grisoft.com. You could also buy the home version for about $60 for two years. I have their home edition, and it's great. I kept having problems with Symantec, and IMO, AVG is a lot better. You gotta look out for those pornadoes, you can get some nasty viruses.:eek2: :blah:

The newer versions of AVG clog things up IMO.

And of course avoid Nortons and McAfee at all costs. Cause more problems then the infections most of the time. lol
