I'm 21 and just bought an 01 4-door Alero 8 months after my Sunfire was stolen. I just found out I'd be paying $3000 a year to insure it, without fire, theft, or collision, under my dads name, and I don't crash, ever, so what the hell is the point? The only things I need are theft and collision god damnit. I just asked my 18 year old female friend what she pays and she pays $1400 a year, that's WITH fire, theft, and collission on a 4-door newer Civic. Now if insurance means "in case this happends", and something doesn't, shouldn't I get my money back? Where the hell does the money go? If I make $10/hr I'll have to pay insurance 4-5 months of my wage just to own a car, it's almost pointless to work, because I'd actually only be making money the other 6-7 months. I could grow more pot in 3 months and profit than I can paying insurance and working. Why should my rates go up because someone stole from me? Why am I paying twice the money for less than half the coverage of a girl? Is it because I'm a male (a better driver) and am more prone to accidents? I've never done a burn out in my life and I don't plan on it. I have 2 speeding tickets. That's sexist and it has to stop. Insurance has so many laws in it, but not the most important which is equality. I want to start my own insurance company, where you get your money back at the end of the year if nothing happends, I'll call it "Just in Case". Insurance companies should not be allowed to know if you are male or female. What if I were gay? Are gays more prone to high speed cop chases? If they asked you your sexual orientation, wouldn't they see an uproar from EVERYBODY? How the hell can they charge me for having more testosterone in my body?

If anyone likes this idea, I have no idea how to start an insurance company, but I'm totally going to google it and find out. I Imagine I'd have ALL of Canada insured under it. If anyone else likes this idea, and wants cheaper rates for young people that make min. wage, let me know because I'll take a huge fkin loan from the bank and start my own god damned "INSURANCE" company.

Then how would they make money? If you get your money back then their not makin any thing except for the people who make claims and the claim would most likely cost way more than the money the person paid for insurance that year.

That's the kind of thinking that screws everyone over. I don't give a **** how they make their money, it's not my company. They don't need $3000 from me to sit on their asses waiting for me to make a claim. Are you telling me you'd rather NOT get your money back because OOOOHHH they have to make their money *tear*. Are you telling me that insurance companies don't have their heads up their asses?

ins basically bends me over...they want 3600 a year for my 92!!!! ford ranger that i drive maybe 5000k a year...i payed last year, but canceled it this year till i get a new truck, then gona put that under my stepdads company ins as a work truck or somthing to get cheaper ins, its all a scam....just cause theres a higher % of younger ppl that crash so WE the GOOD driver's have to pay cause they dont know how to drive or decide to race and kill others on the road...it just makes me so effing mad!!! :grr:

well part of the problem is that you have 2...must a say 2 tickets...did anyone ever tell you that that raises your insurance.. ...your car was stolen, which to the insurance company is a risk.....i'd rais your prices too..

and thats the dumbest idea of a compnay i have ever heard...you'd never make money, which means you woudlnt be in existence very long...probably one of the stupidest socialist ideas ive ever heard....

why does everyone want everythign for free these days

I,m 17, been drivin a little over a year. Im completely on my own insurance and i pay 900 a year. Thats with 1 ticket on my record.

People may think that insurance reduction courses are a joke but i took one and it took 3 hours of my time and i got a 15% decrease on my insurance. Plus i took drivers ed and that took another 20% off, AND i get a discount because i have over a B average.

I actually pay less now than when i was insured through my parents when i first started driving, i was paying like 1900 a year but i only made one payment of that and then switched onto my own plan.

Take the insurance and point reduction courses they help more than you'd think!!

I've got my 6 month renew coming up here in april, god I hate insurance companies. Then again...I've never had to use one either, I'm sure I'll be thankful for them if and when the time comes. I'll be 24 here in a couple months, never been in an accident, and no tickets! Why the hell am I paying 1200 a year to be insured they ought to pay me for being awesome.

im 17 got a 98 dodge dakota v8,96 dodge ram 2500 l6(my dads been driving it so he paying for it now) and a 85 dodge ram w150 v8(not insured anymore due to restoring it). When all 3 were insured I was paying like 3012 every 6 months. Now that I only have insurance on my dakota im paying 740 every 6 months(full coverage) and I hit a deer and have 1 speeding ticket.
Edit: Forgot to add that 740 is with my good grade discount it will stay that low as long as I have a B average in school. If I dont maintain that then it will go up to around 1,400
