This will be my next purchase, I think. Looking at either the Pro Armor Fat bars or the equivalant Moose nerf bars with pegs. I was set on the Pro Armors, but after reading so much about poor fitment and not that durable it has me thinking twice. I also think the Moose look great and now I am wondering if that will be the better set of nerfs. Input?

Pro armor not durable? Fitment issues? sounds like your taking about Tusk and AC.

I read some reviews on a couple vendor sites and also read that on some forum posts. I just did a history search (a little late) and found the same post from a over a year ago. Seems everyone was behind the Pro Armor.

I put the Pro Armor Fat Bars with heel guards and peg inserts on my new 400ex a couple of months back. They went on with no issues and work great. Not to mention they look awesome. The pegs are very aggressive and wide.

Go with the Moose. Had the Pro Armors. Didn't fit that great on mine. Heel guards flexed and cracked. Had them welded and the welder said that the heel guard was made out cheap material. Had another local welder guy cut out that heel guard and weld in diamond plate. Pegs are nice but if I had the chance again I would cough up the extra money for Rath's. Here's some pictures with the diamond plate.

Those don't look like the fat pegs. I would not walk away if I hit hard enough to bend or break the welds on the ones I have. I weld and the welds look great on the bars.

Also, Pro Armor will give you $20 for every $100 you spend up to $300. Get your local dealer to give you a diso****, then send the receipt to pro armor and they give you the credit for purchases directly with pro armor.

Those are the fat pegs. I see now that the peg is on wrong. It wasn't the welds that cracked it was the material next to the welds.
Can't really tell in this picture but the metal by the handle looking part is cracked. I mean you could say I hit that with my foot but it is a HEEL guard and should be able to withstand my foot hitting it.

And on this one you can't see it either but it was cracked right behind the peg and right next to the weld.

Although they look good in my opinion Pro Armor Fat Peg = fail.

The pro armor fat pegs def. look the best out of all the nerfs. Well next to rath or the IMS combo, but those will run you about 500 bucks. I wish they made the powergrip system for the 400s.

i have pro armor fat pegs on mine.they took some work getting on but once they were on they are super sturdy.

has anyone said anything to pro armor about the heel guards cracking? They seem like they'd have good customer support and help you out somehow..

The moose ones look pretty good.. Its just been a while since I seen some... You dont see too many people running them on here. That'll probaly be my next pair of nerfs.

i like the moose nerfs but the pegs are aluminum and the teeth wear out real quick. One of my buddies has a set and this happened

I emailed them. They were nice but wouldn't do anything after the 60 days or something like that.

It makes sense for the metal to tear before the weld breaks. I could not see that happening to me, but I'm old and slow:)

Yeah I mean they did the job for a season of MX. Last year I guess you could say I was the Weinen of the "C" class. I ended up breaking the entire mount out of the exhaust. :eek2:

The EX I just bought has pro armors on it, and by the look of them, I would not own another set.

The hell guards are broken, and there are multiple cracks in various areas.

I kinda like the new ones the site sponsor has out.

the pro armor nerfs are stong my 400ex had pro pegs and i beat it to yonder and back and never had a problem with the nerfs
i rolled it on a couple turns and once off a big jump but didn't bend like the dg's i had on a warrior or anything

whatever you get, get something with some nice wide pegs on them. I cant complain too much since my nerfs were free but if I had to pa for them I would just spend the extra to get something with a wide built in peg. I'm getting real fed up with the stock pegs and being up higher than the nerf. What happens is I tend to put my heel in the space between the peg and the heel guard angled down so when I hit things my fit arent flying forward. Had I lower and wider pegs I wouldnt have to do that. Do the pro armor fatpeg, the peg portion sit low and not too far up from flush witht he bottom of the heelguard?

them moose race pegs look nice and wide and have that "kick up" that comes in handy. Im running 450r footpegs and I hate em. I dont know how my feet stay on but they do.

450r foot pegs would be great compared to the 400ex ones. i've been looking for a cheap pair

oh yea, i love the kicks. they come in handy for throwin down some whips. but with the stock pegs, your foot slips off fairly easy due to the lack of the kick ups. i wouldnt worry about your peg teeth dulling quickly though. my feet have never slipped off.
only thing i will buy over my moose nerfs are rath monster pegs, those are some sexy nerfs :D

heres a side pic to show the kick up(i swear the camera angle makes the nerfs to look bent, but they arent)

I installed a set of AC Racing Black-Line Pro Pegs nerf Bars and I love them, they couldnt fit any better and have replacable pegs. They are strong and have not broke any welds and they have been well used.
