okay, i am thinking about taking a red taillight off of a 300ex, and turning it upside down (like a U), and filling it with plaster-a-paris, and then once that dries, pour hot clear plastic over it. and letting that dry. then just buying a red light bulb. so what do yall think about it. KP

I went out to the barn, and I took my light off. Now I cannot get the red part and the white part seperated, argh:mad: !! so does anyone know how to get this thing apart, crap... who would have thought of such a way to put a plastic piece and a gosh darn taillight together so good that it is amost impossible to get it off. oh well I just had to vent a little:o . the two pieces are glued together. You have to heat them with a blowdryer of even stick it in the oven for a few minutes.

I know a guy who can probably make a mold for you, or if they (clear tailights) are greatly desired, he'll probably start making them and selling them himself. Molds are NOT cheap. He OWNS the patent on motorcycle clear lenses. His company is the only place in the WORLD that can make them and sell them. I know for a fact a mold for a clear lense cost near $10,000. Yes, I said $10,000. This guy is cool. The company's name is Clear Alternatives. ( www.clearalternatives.com ) It's located in Sandwich, Massachusetts for anyone who wishes to call 411 to get the number.

What are you talking about? 10,000$ for what? He is gonna try to make some lights just for fun i dont know what some 10000$ lenses have to do with it.

Dang lilpoppy... all defensive, huh? All I was saying was that the mold for him to make a lense for a speific application costs him about $10,000. So if we called and there was a big enough demand for it, he'd probably have a mold made. He sells the actual lenses (which is the whole sealed housing and a red bulb) for about $50 to $150, depending on application.

Sorry for sounding defensive but you made no sense. It sounded to me like you were saying KP's lil'300 was breaking this guy patent or something and i was just stating that he was just messing around with the idea. The 10,000$ was just a little confusing. Anywase there is no way in **** i will ever spend 100-150$ and a tail light for my quad. No offense intended.

no offense taken... I wouldn't spend it either, but a lot of people probably would... Thats why I tossed out the idea and info...
