Did all my readings just now:

Ignition coil primary (0.1-0.3)-------------0.7
alternator exciter coil (50-250) -----------187
Pulse generator (50-200) -------------- 114

IGNITION COIL ( by itself) (0.1-0.3) ----0.7
Back of coil to cap (7-11) ---------------- 0
Back of coil w/o cap (3-5) -----------------0

COULD THE COIL BE BAD, WOULDNT IT NOT RUN IF 0 OHMS?

INFO GUYS?

I don't know. Either way, your coil needs to be replaced.

the reisistence in a new coil should be 0. but it should run fine at .05

Everything else you checked wasn't in the 1000+ ohm range.

Those readings should be in the K range(1000's).

Summing it up, there are only 4 things that would give you that reading:

1. Bad coil
2. Improper testing
3. Faulty meter
4. Testing range outside of meters limits

So which one do you think it is?

guess why they call you "aceman". checked the readings in the 1000+ range. Its 3 without the cap. so my old coil was good. Oh well I have an extra coil.

Now I put all my connections back, cleaned and put dielectric grease on them. I have a tether kill switch from when I bought it so I cut the factory handle bar swich off cause it was zip tied on the fram. In order to have the right connection shouldnt the green and black be connected? Had them connected and didnt start, undid them and held the plug wire and no spark or shock. Which wires to connect after taking the factory swith off. I dont run light so I didnt need it.
