Lowering a DS650

One of my buddies just got a DS650 and has been wondering if there is a way to lower it to make it less top heavy. He said he found a lowering kit but it was ridiculously priced. Anyone have a trick or cost-effective way to lower these quads?

You could probably find some shorter shocks on ebay..
