got a stock 88 frame and stock linkage setup. was wondering what air box set up's you guys are running. i have a esr elminator and runn it with a dd filter for a 450r, but want something for the trails. was wondering about the lt500 boot & making a splash sheild or alumiun air box with lt500 boot. i run apacer plate on the 350pv if this changes anything.

I run stock air box, no lid and no snorkel with a K&N filter.

get a 86 airboot, 86-89 stock airbox and go to EHS racing website and order one of their filter tops. A set of airbox rings wouldn't hurt either. Or you get a UM airbox and top from Rockymountain and 86 stock airboot. I do mostly mx with my atv's, I have a aftermarket aluminum airbox on my atc and trx250r(no tops) and my crf450r hybrid uses a modded 86 atc250r airbox, atc250r airtube, coupler, and piece of coolant hose to reach the carb. Its not pretty, but it works.

Let us know how you like the UM box! I've been kickin' around the idea of gettin' one! Let us know about the fit and finish and whatnot. Thanx.

i decided to call um direct and luckily got the last one they had, and the filter cover. ordered the 86 boot. so the trick to make it fit on the bigger carbs is put it in boiling water for a couple mins not still boiling the water. and take out and imediatly clamp on bigger carb, and let sit over night? correct me if i got something wrong!
