New with questions

Hey everybody i'm new to the forum and fairly new to the sport. i have a few questions, to begin with i realize theres already a jetting thread but i wasn't sure if i would get a reply on there.

I have a 02 426ex with a stage 2 hotcam, k&n filter, and pro circuit t4 slip on. Can anybody possibly tell me which size jets to use. I'm at about 500ft above sea level and the average temp in the summer is about 75. Like i said i'm newer to the sport and don't know much about jetting so pictures would help alot. Thanks for the help in advance

I would say about a 142 or 144 dj or equivalent in kiehin. I would start there with about 3 turns out on the fuel air screw and third spot from the top. you can look at the jetting and tuning thing and there are some good suggestions there also. I had a 138 dj in mine without the cam in it with my t-4. Good luck steve

what compression are you running???


i would try a 168 main jet and a 42 pilot. my 426 is 13 to 1 compression and ran a 170 main before i went to a 450r carb.

you can change the main jet with out removing the carb, but to change the pilot jet you have to take the carb off the bike and remove the fuel bowl. you change the needle by removing the top plate on the carb and then the two screws in the slide. once that is out of the way the needle will come out. move the clip down to make it richer, move it up to lean it out.
