z400 reverse bog?

picked up my brand new leftover 08 z400 saturday the 14th, and im hoping this isnt a problem already, it runs great in foward, and then i shift into reverse, itl go just fine but if you go wide open even with the clutch all the way in, itl just kinda bog out and not do anything, but itl stay running.
im hoping its just a governor or something

They run really odd in reverse. It sounds as if they are loading up.

they have a rev limiter set VERY low to prevent tearing up the reverse gear. the throttle can only go to about 1/8th throttle before it hits the reverse limiter. judging by my frinds kfx400 atleastl. when i had to get it unstuck from a mudhole :ermm:

You can modify it so you have the same rev limit in reverse as you do in forward.

They do have a like bi-pass you can do to remove that reverse limiter theres a forum some where if you look
