Ok, I got a new computer moniter (17'' which is a biiggg upgrade from my previous one, 12"!!) and my ond one was OLD!! 1995ish and had a screen resoulution of 800x600. When I plugged my new moniter in, I went to the control panel then click on display and adjusted it to the greatest amount, and it was great! Then little later, my computer restarted then when I came back on.. it was 800x600. So I tried to adjust it, and IT WON'T LET ME!!!! :grr:  :grr: I've tried over and over again! It won't move (the adjuster)!!! :grr:  :grr:

So, now, I just got a lot nicer screen, but everything on it is HUGE and I don't know what to do!!

And usually when it restarts, I have to type in all my passwords again, but it is like remembering everything, like it never restarted! I put this in here because I think it may be apart of the problem, because like it is remembering everything... I don't know.

Sorry this is so jiberish, I am just very fed up and am typing very fast with sore fingers... :grr: :grr:   :grr: :grr:    :grr:

You may need to update your video card drivers. If your PC sees generic drivers it may limit the resolution your monitor will project.

xp, ok same as me, just right click on the background, click properties, then the settings tab, then adjust ur resolution, it will adjust, and you then click apply, should work, and it might ask you if you want to keep these settings

It's the VIDEO card driver......that is what tells windows what resolutions you can run.

You've got the basic VGA (800x600)

Have a look what the device manager says (right click on my computer.....then select properties.....then the hardware tab....then device manager button......then select the '+' beside the Display Adapters.

Looks like you're gonna have to open 'er up and find out EXACTLY what Graphics card you have to download the correct driver.
