What do you reccomend for gearing on a 2004 450R with 22'' razrs in the rear? I race cross country..
13/38??
And what size chain, thanks.

A 13T front sprocket would be good enough just tighten the chain up thats what I do when I ride trails. Basically with those 22" tires your gaining clearence and changing to a 13T front spocket it will feel like 20" with a 14T front.

I would leave it as it is and test the 13T front then you can see if you want more torque or more speed
Back Sprocket
Smaller = More Speed less torque
Bigger = More Torque less top speed

I always get confused...what does changing the front do
Going up=?

bigger front higher gear (more teeth)
smaller front lower gear (less teeth)
bigger rear lower gear (more teeth)
smaller rear higher gear (less teeth)

when i race xc on my 2005 450r i run 13 38 with 20 inch tires when i run 22 i useally use a 39 rear sproket to compensate for the bigger tires
