View Full Version : Are OEM rear shocks rebuildable?

My 87' rear shock finally had it i parked it after riding and noticed the rest of the fluid that was left after riding was on the floor in my garage i dont know if i can get new seals for it and where or if its even worth all of that

yes it can be rebuilt and revalved. they're a pretty good shock so hopefully you didn't hurt the housing.

I had a stock shock with the PEP heart transplant.
That shock was as good as any I've ridden!
Baldwin did the work on it.

Yes they are rebuildable. Its fairly easy too. If you have ever replaced the bottom end on your motor. You should be fine rebuilding the shock.

never did any motor work on any atv this is my first one i do have machanic skills and not affraid to try. What about the resivor that hooks to the shock is that rebuildable or should it be fine and what type of fluid to you usally put in the shock im about 150lbs thanks alot for the info
