to do this, though i have never tried this one. lol i think all that you would need is a 450r brake stay and the 450r brrake caliper and bam your done. might have to do a little grinding here and there but not too bad. good luck and let me know how it comes out.

Has anyone tried this yet? Seems like the 450r pads would last longer.

I think it has a lot to do with the swing arm you run. I dont know that it would work on a stock swinger. the 450r stay is striaght, the 300 has a bend to it. you also need the hub and rotor from the 450. I have only seen it done once, but forgot how I did it. LOL

So if you buy the hub, rotor, stay, and caliper you could run 450r brakes on a 300ex swingarm and axle? I don't see that being a big deal. I think there would be a benefit by swapping that stuff. On my hybrid I’m building, I’m going to run the complete 450r rear set up, but for the trail 300ex I want to keep the standard swingarm. A picture or personal experience installing this would be very helpful.

I know it can be done cuz we have it on our 300. But it has a JB Racing +2 swinger with a RPM Dominator 2 axel,LSR carrier and 450r brakes, rotor. The quad was built by my friend,I didn't do it.
And yes it's worth the work. The brake pad is alot bigger and last alot longer. And the rear brake never fades.

Like I said it's all about the swinger. I did it to ours and the swinger is the diff. it wont work as far as I know with a stock arm.
