i would like to run a 13;1 piston in my 05 450r. do i need race gas?

yes at least 104 octane but id run 112 leaded it helps everything but the environment

if you have the piston thermal and moly coated you can run premium pump gas but may need to run a mix when it gets hot. Keep in mind depends on your elevation also.
