It states in the Honda 400ex owners manual to clean the engine oil strainer in the oil tank every 200hrs. This is a silly question, where is it in the oil tank and how do I get it out?

Thanks

It's in the chrome line at the bottom of the tank. Just remove the line and there it is.

Dude, go to your Honda dealer and buy a service manual and read it! The oil tank is just in front of your header pipes and the strainer they are referring is at the beginning of the supply oil line that runs horizontal from the bottom part of the tank towards the rear of your bike. It's not the "chrome" oil lines on the side of the crankcase. The strainer is the inner nut on this oil fitting and I have never found any debris in mine, while using the stock oil tank. Oh and be sure to replace the O-ring when you disassemble this fitting.
