I'm hoping some of you experts can help me. I'm in process of putting back together my rear end from an axle bearing job. Here is my problem..
I have a gap on either side, both where the disk hub goes into the carrier and where the sproket hub goes into the carrier. I have the new bearings flush in the carrier and the bearing seals flush with the outside surface of the carrier. I hit the axle with a hammer and I'm pretty sure it's in as far as it can go. Same with the disk hub side, this should be as far as it goes also. I included a couple of pics so you can see what I mean.
Are they in as far as they can go? Is this normal???
Do I need to push the seals in further to allow both hubs to go in further to the carrier? Thanks everyone for your help
