i purchased a 03 400 about 2 years ago. it came with a G-force extended rear axle and some other various parts. Ive had numerous proplems with the hubs locknuts backing themselves off and getting stripped out. i check the castle nuts repeatedly and in the span of a ride theyll back off even with the cotter pin in place. is there anything to permantly fix this problem? billet? more expensive locknuts? PLEASE HELP!

With the cotter pins in they should not move at all. Unless they are snapping the pins its acutally impossible. You may have to get a pipe or something and get them tight enough to move the castle nut forward enough to put the cotter pin in the next hole. I Dont know if you would want to put locktite or anything on them its your bike up to you. Maybe find a washer to put behind the hub against the spacer for the axle then tighten the shiet out of it in case your threads are stripped to keep the nut on fresh threads.

The bolts aren't being torqued down tight enough.

mine does the same thing, i tightined them down with my 2' strongbar and then you cant put the cotter pins in, so you gota back em off, i just put some big lock washers on there, gona check em after my ride to see if it works, if it dont i'm gona get some nyloc nuts.

Thanks guys i appreciate the tips. ive tried torqueing the crap out of them and you cant get the cotter pins in. ill try the washers out and locktite it. cheaper solutions than the billets and those might not even help out. thanks again

Did you just use any old lock washers from like an auto parts store or hardware store? ill give this a try. see if it works. but first i have to buy new hubs!

ya there just regular lock washers from our bolt wall unit thingy, cant remember the size, just big enough to go over the axle splines..
