kick start

I was out ridding where i normally ride and this guy came over to talk to me. He asked me questions about riding (he was new to atvs) so then I start to look at his quad........ His 400ex has a kick start.... He had no idea about it because it was on it when he bought it used. Is it possible/ hard to put a back up kickstart on my 400?

I have never heard of this before!!! If you wouldn't have seen it I would not believe it.. as far as putting one on no idea....but I wish i had one on mine!

I've never seen it before, sounds cool though and I got no idea how much it would cost, I wouldnt mind havin one though!:D

it can be done,but you gotta use the stuff from the XR400,plus prolly do some mods,cause you'll hit your rear plstic and all,but i bet it save's some poundadge

u need all the kick starter gears for the inside and a xr400 cover. heres some of the things u need. http://216.37.204.203/Honda_OEM/HondaDB.asp?Type=13&A=111&B=12
basically all of those, plus a few things.

And if it does kick backwards does it have a aftermarket wider case or can you tell if its a XR sidecase?

Sorry about all the questions I'm just curious. I think there was a thread on something like before, I not sure if it had any good info though.

wut do u mean backwards? dont most bikes kick backwards...or do u mean backwards as in forwards like the 250r or 250x kick? or maybe i dont kno wut im talkin about....

for all of you guys wanting a 400 with kickstart...ill trade someone my brand new never started 350x motor...just think kickstart with 6 forward gears:D

all dirtbikes kick backwards. called a "dirtbike kick"
my zuki quadracer kicked like a "dirtbike kick"
my 250r kicks foward.
