I was wondering if anyone has tried the octain boosters. The stuff you can put in your gas to rase the octain level. Do these really work?, nd do are they harmful to an engin? are they worth the money. I was just wondering if any one knew anythink about them.:square

I've asked the same question and was told to stay away from it,,if ya want more octane go buy higher octane gas or mix it 50/50 with pump gas.

Oh and I'm guessing you meant booster and not booser,,,I was gonna say I drink alot of beer so I almost consider myself an octane booser...:D

In my opinion, using an octane booster is a waste of money, if pump gas doesn't have enough octane, purchase some aviation fuel or race gas.

I just bought some octane booster made by VP. It was on the expensive side at $10.00. It is supposed to raise your octane level seven points in a 22 gallon tank. Seems to work fine for me. I just mixed a little in 5 gallons of 93.

i luv the smell of race gas, but i use KLOTX OCTANE BOOSTER and im gonna start using a 50/50 of 92 & 112. the octane booster works pretty good and was like $5 for each bottle (i bought 2). I use a cool head (19cc dome) on my R so i need a 50/50 blend. Redrider what motor mods do you have?

Octane booster is a joke don't waste your money. Race fuel not only has a higher octane level but is also a better quality fuel. When you pay the big money for it you are not just paying for extra octane.

When they say points thats what they mean in other words it will raise your octane from say 93 to 93.5 or something.
One of the best things to use for octane boost is Xylene. Mix about 1 part xylene to 3 parts gas will give you around 100 octane. Xylene is 117 octane. It is one of the properties found in most octane boosters anyway.

I bought some Klotz octane boost at a GNCC race a few weeks ago. Ive been running it mixed with 91 and havent really noticed any difference in my performance.

you won't notice any difference with a stock motor.unless you have mods done to the engine you don't need anything higher than what honda recommends.;)
