Be careful when you install the needle bearings!

I like to use a socket that is just a little smaller than the O.D. of the brg.
Then freeze the brg. before installing it.
I use my bench vise to slowly press them in!

It dont take much to ruin the needle brg. on the install........especially if your hammerin' them in!

Whenever dealing with brgs.......always press on the stamped side of the brg. where it is marked with the number.
If there is no marking then dont worry.

I haven't owned an 86 in yrs. but.........I think there is a ledge in there that the brg. butts up against?

I'm not sure what your askin about on the collar. It should only go in one way........

the end cap or collar whatever you call it has 2 sides onre that the dust seal goes on and another that goes into the swinger im guesing the shorter side is the outside so that the dust seal goes on it?

and im not shure about a stopper ill check it out should the bearing fo into the center of each side on the swinger?

The brg. should only go in the swingarm a little bit....probably just far enough to get everything in.....unless theres a ledge like stated before.

Sorry I'm not more help...its been a while since I've dealt with the 86.

I'm gonna bust out the manual and look for ya! Do you own one?

The manual shows the relation off how everything goes in.

If all the collars and what not fit in there then........your good to go!
