i own both hipers and shamrocks and i am the same speed with the shamrocks as i am with the hipers. it all depends on what you think looks better imo. the thing i like about hipers is after a season of racing you can buy a new set of bead rings and the look new agian and you cant do that with the shamrocks.

Tech 3s are the race wheels. CF1s are the recreational wheels.

i like DWT. Ive seen a few hipers break and 0 Douglas rims crack or anything. Well one of my friends didnt tighten his lug nutz enough and they became egg shaped but thats it.

I prefer Douglas. I've never had Hipers on my own bike but they are always cracking and leaking on my friends.

go with the douglas, last three years i ran douglas two of the three years, i had a set of hipers last year, cant keep them tight, cant keep air in them, and cant keep mudplugs in the rears. they are inferior to douglas in my racing mx for last 4 years on 450rs.

I race XC and run hipers. Never had a problem. They won't bend like aluminum, and I never have a problem keeping air in mine. Only thing is, you hit something hard enough, Hipers break, where aluminum bends and lets you finish the race, however, with replaceable wheel halves, rings, and centers, theoretically, one set of hipers will last someone a lifetime. And they do look good.
