We have been looking for a 90 quad for our 9 yr old son and are wanting a drr or a polaris predator. We found a 02 completely stock. My question is, is there a huge difference between the new models and the 02 models? Do you think it would cost us alot to make this into a nice race quad(not sure yet if he would even race it)? And would all the newer model parts fit on the 02, including plastics? Thanks!!!

It would take much more money to make the 02 competitive. The DRR is a very nice value and solid quad. There are tons of dealers on here too for support later on. Much better online support than just about any other miniquad out there. You can't go wrong that way.

The 02 is very similar to a Predator. Both single a-arm, A/C motors, etc. I don't think plastics will interchange with newer stuff. I would go with a newer model(06-newer). Unless you get a great deal. The single a-arm, A/C quads are lighter and can be fast too.

Be patient it seems that there's always a couple popping up on the mini's for sale section on here.
