A dealer in Ft. Wayne, IN recently advertised an '07 400EX for $3989 plus taxes, etc. So, $4200 or so out the door is very reasonable.

They also were advertising an '07 450ER for $ 4987.

I know they still have the 400EX, not sure about the 450ER.

I was strongly considering the 400, but found a used one with a ton of aftermarket parts for less money.

I was looking for an xr 50 for my girl and called all around. Asking for OTD prices, one semi-local place had the lowest price by far in the trader paper, so I gave them a call, they ended up right in the middle of all the OTD prices.

Sales guy asked "How's that sound??" I told him that it sounded like they had some retarded setup fees or something and explained why....... He did not have much to say after that.

You always have to get the OTD price, cause what they advertise and what you pay are two different things. I would have been pissed to drive almost an hour and expect a good deal, only to get one for the same price as a dealer 5 minutes away

Several dealers on http://www.atvtraderonline are advertising them for $3900. That's about $2000 below sticker.

That's about right...

Anyone paying more than that it today's market is a SUCKER!

I know... I spent plenty of time considering one for the reverse.

But I bought a leftover KFX450R instead.

I just bought in OCT an 06 new leftover for $3300. I still had to pay the $168 in tax locally since I registered it with the DNR and bought this new out of state and didn't pay tax on the OTD price of $3300.

i got mine very clean in almost stock form,(aftermarket bumper and trimmed fenders, different rear tires) its not new but it was like new and it was 1200, all your gaining in any way is reverse for a couple grand, id look into a nice older stock bike thats low hours and well kept put the 3 grand in some aftermarkets, you could have a nice pipe, a arms, shocks, axle, and all kinds of pretty stuff for 3 thousand. and you will find that hondas are less expensive than kawi and zuki and yami because of the liquid cooling on all those, and the better suspention, but the ex is still more reliable and i dont have a problem smoking all over the other brands with the mods i have, the zuki is a close runner thow, with a good pipe and intake there a fast 400. dont be hasty to buy a machine you may regret it.
