got another 300ex!!

well im sure some of you saw my last project thread. That quad got traded for a 86 chevy s10 with a 305. After working on the s10 I traded it for 2 blasters. They were fun...not I locked up the motor on one, then sold it to a friend. And im currently trying to sell the other...BUT TODAY I PICKED UP ANTHOER 300EX. All for a whopping $900. RUNS GREAT!!!!

These quads are just to fun, and I got a good deal so I couldn't pass it up.

run down:
2000 honda 300ex
maier custom plastics (blue)
kenda klaws in the rear
new o-ring chain
new carrier bearing
aftermarket exhaust and head pipe (loud, sounds great)

what it needs/things im going to change:
Put blue handle bars with new grips
tighten chain
install skid plate on swinger
get a black seat cover (it needs it BAD)
and lastly RIDE IT.

Now I know how you like pics but it pouring outside so there gona have to wait untill tomarrow afternoon. Just glad to be back with a 4stroke, I just love the sound and torque

well here are some pics after the first ride and clean up.
I have a few questions.
-all the sudden it wont start with the clutch pulled in. It HAS to be in N for it to start. What would cause this? It was fine before we went riding.
-Can some one post pics of how the maier plastics mount front and back. Right now there are bolts holding the back ones on and it makes it a pain to remove the seat. and the fronts are mounted good enough and flap in the wind.
-and can you tell what kind of exhaust that is? I know its missing the end piece, I need to know what kind it is before I can try to find a replacment part

For the not starting with the clutch pulled in. When you pull in the clutch can you hear the switch in the clutch handle (perch) click? If it clicks it may have come unplugged or it may just be fubar.

well got a new seat cover ordered, should be here in the next day or two. Still havnt looked at why switch for the clutch.
I also installed my new skid plate for the swinger.

BUT today I found out that my rear bearings are SHOT. They guy told me they were replaced last year, either they were never replaced or somone messed up the install. So looks like im in the market for a dual row bearing carrier. I just hope it holds up for right now.

AND I changed the oil, I was amazed to find about only 1/2 quart of oil in the case!!! Im surprised it was still running. But I got some new gn4 in there now and it runs like a champ.

I will update with pics when I get the seat cover

my 300 did the whole not start unless it was in n and it turned out to be a blown fuse
