I have no experience with the thumper kit, but I will say this....There is alot more to be gained from the bolt-on stuff and things like headwork, etc etc , rather than just bumping up displacement. I would spend the 500-600 bucks on headwork from Killian porting service in GA and a big carb rather than throwing a big bore kit. The gains you would feel would be from the bumped up compression, not from the extra displacement.
