how to- jet 400ex?

Im trying to rejet my 400ex 07 model with my hmf slip on and airbox lid off and uni filter. what jets do i need to start with? and do i have to take the carb off to change the jets? and how exactly do i take it off?

First and foremost, I am no expert. I do everthing by trial and error. Here is what i did. I bought a DYNO JET KIT, the reason I went this route is because this kit has several jets and needles, so you have options. Keep in mind you want to start rich and work your way down. Which means its better to run rich than lean.
Next buy a good service manual. There are tons of good ones out there. There are even some really good on-line manuals with detailed video. Finally have fun and take your time. Hope this is a good start for you. :)

stay away from the dyno junk kits...go to www.jetsrus.com and read their faq's...all of them...then order their jet kit...
