Im installing my cam tomorrow. What kind of grease should I put on it. The tech manual says moly-based but the sheet from hotcams says non-moly based. Can I get that at an auto parts store? Thanks, Anthony

Grease is good,, but really you dont HAVE to use it,,, If you want after installing your cam,, just oil the cam and fill the head with oil,, this will help on dry start up,,, but if you prefer to use grease,, just get some multi-purpose,, or just go to A parts store and ask them what would be best...

Use "STP" oil treatment. It's thick and will stay put during the first initial start up and break in.

What ever you do, don't use nothing or regular oil. Your lobes and rockers will wear more in the first 10 min than they normally would after 100 hours use.

I would really grease your cam lobes. I think you would hate to scratch it up on the first 2 min. of its life.

They have special oil at the autoparts store, Its about $2. Its not moly oil but its does the same thing, its engine start up oil.

I would use the right stuff.

Lubriplate 101. You can pick it up at Napa for about $3-5.

Thanks, I got the lubriplate. I went to three different auto parts stores and they all said to use that. The first 2 stores were out then I finally lucked up at the third store. They had one left. Thanks Ant.
