ok i got in to an accident with my f-250 it had a 4 inch suspension lift which is now junk and i thought ok heres my chance to get the lift i really want....... an 8 inch super lift that will fit my 38x15.5 parnelli mud grips, well turns out in wisconsin you cant have any higher than a 4 inch suspension lift with, your bumper cant be over 30 inches off the damn ground! and you can only have a tire thats 4 inches bigger than stock! this blows bad! im just gna put a 6 inch lift and cut out fender flares now! lol maybe a 3inch body lift later.. depending if the cops in my area harrass me bout it the 6 inch lift and 38 inch tires lol

what are you lifted truck guys opinions on this? is it different in other states? if i could get a good job like i have now id probably move to another state just so i could have it LOL

I live in good ol Florida so we can lift our stuff is tall as we want.

You can drop the bumper down to keep in that 30 in law. Also the lariat superdutys with the stock 20s have like 35s on them, so thats good for some 39s.

Check out this link it may help if not the pic is amazing anyways.

The only thing I know of in PA is you can't be more than 13 ft 6 inches high.

That's odd, my old chevy didn't even have a bumper for the longest time. And if it did, there was no way it was under 30" at the bumper. I don't think most cops run around looking or measuring though.

dont see hows thats possbile because i'm 6'2 and there has been trucks street legal that I could literally stand under. No exageration I see many where my head is at the bottom of the door. This is the only person I know with a truck too big...

99% of cops could careless how high your truck is lifted, it is a law that is not enforced very often. As long as your lights arent shinging directly into peoples rear veiw mirrors, you should have nutin to worry about.

lift it high

is the bumper law there just so you dont monster truck someone? instead you would hit or push them. For the 1st time in my life I saw the police pull a guy over for j-walking last weekend. He darted across the road and the police pulled him over. So funny.

I'm from Alabama and if there is a law around here, they don't enforce it. I've seen some rigs just locally that could roll over a car like a rock.

I just measured mine im about 28 in the rear and 29 in the front. close enough, but considering im only on a 6" lift with 37s there are trucks a whole lot taller than mine.

hypersnyper6947

I adopted him as a puppy, so im not sure exactly what he is. Pit something thats for sure, he is the best dog in the world. All in all i think he is mostly pit.

Ah ok. He looked a bit like a American Bulldog and you don't see many of those so, that's why I was asking.

hypersnyper6947
03-18-2009, 06:09 PM
Its possible he is an american bulldog that was one of the breads we were thinking also. He is a bull something, either american bulldog, american staffordshire terrier or american pit bull terrier. He has one of those in him for sure, his demeanor is awesome though, he loves all people and dogs.

He loves Frisbee too

Yeah it definitely looks like he has it in him. I doubt he's stafforshire since they tend to be shorter. I'd love to have an American Bulldog, but man around here, puppies are going for well over $1k

Well with a 2" taller lift and 1" taller tire than mine i would imagine that it would measure around 32-33" up front.

It also depends on year, leaf sprung tucks are a bit different then the coil sprung 05+ trucks.

joeyds450x

the tires that are goin on it and th tires that came off it

awesome! i hope mine turns out that good :D

hey how wide are those tires?

hypersnyper6947
03-18-2009, 09:46 PM
My tires are 13.5" wide, the key to having you truck look balanced when lifting it is having the wheels stick out the is the backspacing of the wheels. My wheels are 10" wide with 4.5" backspacing.

Im sure yours will look pretty awesome when your done. I think jacked up single cabs look sick.

thanks man, my rims are 12 inches wide... i hopoe with an 8 inch lift i can clear the 15.5 inch wide tire when i turn, ya im gonna put the bushwaker cut out flares on so i dnt get pulled over all the time, n eventually a chrome roll bar in the back, but never will it touch mud! :p

Yea mine is a pavement princess too, mud effs everything up. I rub a little when i turn all the way with my 37x13.50s so you may rub a bit with those 38x15.50s, especially b/c your leaf sprung and i think they rub a bit more up front. I really want to get the micky thompson baja atz in 36x15.50x20 for my next tires. Yours will look pretty awesome with the 38x15.50's for sure.

I hate seeing gas burners in superdutys (personal preference).... it takes the heart out of them and makes them deprived sounding...its no fun because you can't prolly roast much of anything, you can't blow the lovely black clouds, you have no turbo whistle the list goes on and on but still you got a nice truck. But on the plus side you don't have to fool with $$ repairs . . . But if you want a diesel you could throw a cummins in there!!! That’s what I hope to do to mine one day once I have the money to get the ol stroker out . . . once it stops raining ill post some new pics of mine up. I like the 38's so did you come out on top with the insurance? I sure hope you did because someone needs to have fun with what we have to pay for insurance.

might as well move to oregon because basically anything goes here as long as you have fender flares and really then that isnt that big of deal unless your in one of the big cities like portland.
