Here we go again. I'm doing some changes to mine including a freshly power coated LoneStar Baja frame (not the one in the pics), new fenders with graphics and trying out a PowerMaxx Polanda engine while I building my new upgaded Rondax for this year.

Shot of the engine. I have not finished assembling it yet because I have to do some match porting on the transfers between the cases and the cylinder. It a 420cc thats suposed to put out 75h.p. in ride trim and 85+ h.p. in drag trim.

Thanks just trying something new. I have had the ProCross graphics for years and still love the way they look but I'm 40 now and wanted to do something patriotic.

I'd like any and all info on those graphics! I'm doing a red, white and blue theme on my LSR250R for this spring. That graphic kit is exactly what I've been looking for! PM me if you feel more comfortable about it. Thanx.

Ok so I 'm confused , you have a Laeger's frame and a LRD frame and your switching out for a LS baja ? Why?

The LRD Attitude I have been running for the last 5 years has developed some cracks so I'm retiring it to become someones drag frame after weld repairs. I love the frame but I'm 40 years old and weigh 230 lbs and don't trust it anymore.J ust the frame is 12 lbs lighter than my Lonestar, which is a good chunk of change for someone looking to reduce the weight in their drag quad. The Laegers is the father / son project that I'm starting with my 10 year old, so its not for sale. If someone is interested I will sell the LRD frame for $550 shipped.

Is the polanda setup for drag racing or all around riding? I was wondering how they run and if they could be tuned for a wide powerband? also, do you just buy the polaris top end and bolt it up or is there alot of mods to the cases. i assume the cases have to be bored.

For those of you that sent me PM's about the Attitude frame here are some pics of the cracks. There is a hairline crack along the weld edge

The worn area from the chain has been there since I got the frame 5 years ago. It has not caused any problems and you can't really see it with the quad all assembled so I never fixed it.

This one I noticed about 1 1/2 years ago. I think it may have been caused by a gap between the engine and the frame mount.

a few mods are absolutely necessary.

you either have to modify the cylinder bolt pattern or relocated the studs. The polaris pattern is narrower than the honda slightly.

bore the cases for the bigger sleeve

make an exhaust and intake manifold

these are the basic mods...there are lots more that you engine builder would need to discuss with you.

Looks awesome! Great job so far! What brand of radiator is that? Will the shrouds bolt up with that? That thing is huge!

Nice work. You'll definitely have to update us on how the motor compares to your previous 401 Rotax's. And I'm assuming you did some custom work to allow for standard pegs on the pro peg frame?

I was going to just put this monster engine together and sell it on Ebay but I can't resist trying it out first. I bought it off ebay missing all the clutch side components. I finished putting it together and doing a leak down test on it tonight. I should have it in and running tomorrow. It will be up for sale in a few weeks after I try it out because I will be building another couple Rotax engines. I really like the way they perform. The Lonestar frame had standard foot peg mounts and front tube for the nerfs. Is that uncommon?

Any chance you could share some info on your fan setup - where you got it, how you mounted it, what you got it from, and how much power it needs to run?

I need a fan to adapt to fit between those two rails behind the rad for my hybrid.

Where did you get the steel braided radiator hoses too?

wow thats a super nice R. i would also like to know how you get that fan setup. does it autmaticly kick on when it gets so hot?

The fan is off of a YFZ450 and you need a DC voltage regulator to run it with the AC voltage 250R electrical system. I would rather have a Honda 450r fan to keep it Honda but it was to big and wouldn't fit. I have it wired into my light switch so I can turn it off when not needed. Works great.

what did you use for the dc regulator?

Thanks Jon,

Any chance you can get a better pic of it? I want to see how much clearance there is between the posts.

The DC problem shouldn't be an issue since it's for my hybrid which has a battery.

check Ricky Stator for an AC rectifier. It turns AC to DC
