Right now im looking at a clean 1987 250x. It has new rims and tires, and a lot of motor work. Its a 300ex top end, 250x bottom end. Its bored out to 80mm, stroker crank, biggest cam hypercam makes, edelbrock carb, 12.5:1 piston, and a full DG exhaust. It was all done by a shop, and the guy has the receipts. The motor has 8 hours on it. He said he was told its best to run Turbo Blue, but he isnt sure if it can run pump gas. All ill mainly do is ride our trails, creeks, and make paths through the woods. But there is a path along the woods that i usually race around on our Foreman.
Would i be able to run pump gas with it and maybe octane booster? Or would i have to detune it to run pump gas? Ive heard of people running 12.5:1 pistons on pump gas, so im not sure on this one. And would it be fairly reliable, or a ticking time bomb?
