pro's and cons of each?...

im guessing the UNI will hold up longer due to the materials used to make it (foam) ,but that is no more than a guess

overall, which is better (value and quality)

thanks

K&N will make more power on a mod engine. A properly oiled UNI will stop more dirt and extend engine life but will not outperform the stock filter in any way.

I actually did notice a better throttle response over stock with the UNI myself, and prefer it to the k&n because the k&n passes fine dust without an outerwear.

I had a uni filter on a Blaster once and you can tell a difference over stock.

K&N's let fine particles in, but create more power.

With a UNI, you might get some power over stock, and engine life, but with a K&N, you will have higher performance than UNI, but more wear on the engine.

K&N passes fine dust even with an outerware.

I havent run a foam filter sense my Blaster days. But i gotta imagine Uni is better than stock.

Pismo if sand is your main terrain, get the K&N. If dusty trails is more your riding the UNi might be for you.

I personally run in both conditions alot and use a K&n, with no air box lid.

Every time there is a thread about these two air filters everyone says that the UNI blocks more fine dust and K&N flows better. To me it almost sounds like hearsay. Does anybody have proof of this?

I don't want to start a war over this, I just want to see some proof and facts as to why the UNI blocks more dust and the K&N flows better.

I run the uni filters in my 2 strokes and k&n in my 4 strokes. Never had a problem with either yet.

im leaning towards k&n, but im not sure yet..

i have a prefilter (outerwear) on the stock filter right now, will that fit on the k&n?

maybe, not really sure. try it and if it doesn't, then order one later.

k&n is a proven fact flows better, it is paper....i could get the wheels up in 2nd with a flick of throttle when it was on, never could, but now the pipe allows me to get it up in 4thwith a little tug down a road

I bought a new UNI for 15 bucks on ebay.

To many people say that the K&N lets dust/etc threw. So I went with the UNI.

I have a sparks racing and noticed a huge gain over stock. I would recommend it to anyone. I would go with a foam because the filter better than the K&N. JMO.;)

hey pismo. the actual prefilter will fit over your k and n. it does because i got my stock filter with the outerware on and i use them on both. i use my stock for sandy conditions. hope it helps! c ya
