If you do all the proper prep work and let it dry really well on a nice dry sunny day it can come out very good. Sand it down get rid of any and all rust. Prime it with a good primer and give it like 4 coats of paint. Let each coat dry for like a day and it will be pretty legit.

If you do want to paint them and not powdercoat go to a hardware store and get some epoxy paint. It is what is used on horseshoes. One of my buddies painted his a-arms and front bumper with it and has held up almost like powdercoat.

Like quad97 said use epoxy paint. I used some epoxy paint on my A-arms and on my bumper and it worked GREAT. I only had a few chips on the bumper when my friend used a chain to chain my 4wheeler onto the trailer.
Do what Drewltr450 said tho, do plenty of prep work, sand off all the rust and wash it off and let it get good and dry for a day or so. use a good primer and give it a few good coats with about a day for each to dry. I put a name on my A-arms so after that dried i put a few coats of clear-coat on. (if you do go with clear coat, put VERY LIGHT coats on, mine wrinkled because i put to heavy of a coat on it)
