So I bought a G-Force axle and went to the track, yeah it bent and I am kind of disappointed. I am about 240 pounds, any recommendations on an axle that will hold up to heavy abuse on the track combined with my weight. Thanks

03-15-2009, 10:03 AM
RPM dominator

03-15-2009, 10:46 AM
how'd it bend.. send it back and get another one

DirtMonkey
03-15-2009, 10:49 AM
It bent on a 20' double and I didnt even land hard or off balance and yeah Im going to send it in but I am also going to start shopping around for a more durable axle because changing it every weekend will get old quick

What he said... I researched about them before I ordered mine and heard alot of good things. I havent got a chance to ride on mine yet but changing it all the time would get really old.

i agree. i had a durablue and it bent in a minor rollover and hit a tree. my two LSRs took it all and still kept its shine.

Which 450?
03-15-2009, 08:51 PM
I weigh 240, well im down to 220 now, but Ive had a gforce for a few months, been to the track about a half dozen times, and I suck, always landing hard. Ive yet to bend it. O god, wheres a piece of wood??!!

it really seems as if the g force is a hit or miss. personally, i'd get a new one and try again. ive abused mine for almost 2 years and the chrome is still shining.

is this true the 400ex has a flaw in the length of the swingarm that puts axles at risk? if so maby that and the weight are a no go :ermm: i weigh the same and it sucks.

DirtMonkey
03-16-2009, 07:46 AM
Yeah I am going to send it back and give it another chance, I purchased it from RM and they have been great so far. I dont know anything about the swingarm flaw but I am looking for a good deal on a aftermarket at least with a 2" stretch on it

LMAO - man I once saw a video of me riding my 400 and thought how it looked like I was a spider riding a fly.

I would post it but man it's embarrassing looking. (plus, don't tell anyone...I wasn't wearing a helmet in the video. OUR SECRET!)

no its not true. I believe that is something durablue had on there website so they didn't have to cover them under there warranty.

lsr or rpm. my buddys have snapped so many durablue its not funny. and their customer service is crap.

i havent had a problem with the lsr on my 450r or the g force that was on my 400ex.

Rode with my gforce for the first time today... No problems yet but didnt hit any big jumps.

I have a durablue lock nut on it and it seems to be doing its job also...

I am going to send it back this week, probably going to be another week after that before I get it back and put on but as soon as I do ill be sure to post up the results. Ill be going to the same track that I bent it on in the first place so I can do a honest comparison.

i'm about 190lb and a decent rider....i've cased and over jumped many jumps from the past year and the biggest was i flat landed a 90 foot double and my g-force held up perfect....i even bent the a-arms and the axle is good as new...i would just try a new one and maybe you'll have better luck with it

dobber21
03-16-2009, 09:26 PM
i have a gforce im 260 lbs 6'6" and i have easily cleared 60 and 70 foot jumps even landing hard i have had it for a year and a half and im not shy about jumping i have had some pretty sketchy landings and i have yet to bend it, but this is my second one i bent the first one sent it in got a new one no problem and havent had a problem since. in my opinion we both got a lemon on our first tries

DirtMonkey
03-17-2009, 09:55 AM
From what Ive heard that seems to be the case. There are a lot of people chiming in with the same scenario, I hope I get as lucky on my second go round.

Here's a G-force clearing an 85 footer over and over again, the axle held up to two seasons of abuse on this quad, and he is NOT a smooth rider. It did snap on him eventually going through a rythym section. It broke right by the carrier and the entire wheel/tire/broken axle landed in his lap somehow. I was impressed it lasted that long on that quad. I had one on mine and never had issues and my other buddy has one on his current race bike with no issues.

Honestly, just go with LSR, lifetime warranty. If you break it, they will give you another. If you bend it, they will repair it. It just cost shipping to send it to them. I think it's well worth the money, plus its a dependable company!

03-21-2009, 08:45 PM
I also have a big friend and he has broken just about anything that can break. Some castings are different and I do believe in getting the luck of the draw. But I also see more broken Durablue that could be because they sell more?? Anyway I have the G force 2 yrs and I have to dink with the hubs alot. The locktight didn't seem to make anything but a mess.

I went to the track saturday and met another rider that had a G-Force axle. He said the same problem had happened to him twice but on the third try he recieved the axle that he uses now and is problem free, and I took the wheeler back out there, bent axle and all and other than the problem that I already had it held up like a champ and I even tried to make it worse.

TO ANYBODY RUNNING A G-FORCE AXLE, How many spacers are you running ,none, one or both on each side? I was running both on each side when it bent.

Pipeless416
03-22-2009, 01:19 PM
i run the thick spacers, so one on each side. of course the thin spacers are on the outside of the hubs.

nskukalek79
03-22-2009, 01:35 PM
i run both spacers to make it as wide as possible...no problems

dobber21
03-23-2009, 08:39 AM
i run both spacers so its wider and im 260 lbs not a problm as of yet with this new axle had it for about a year

03-23-2009, 10:34 AM
I also run both. It seems just right with +2 arms and stock offset front wheels.

I was jumping some 35ft tables yesterday on mine. I also got heavy 20in razrs on the rear too. But I only weigh 175. :D

Well I lied, I didnt do the test of the replacement G-Force on the same track but I did take it to a track that had bigger jumps and hit 65' doubles and a 75' triple all day long and had some REALLY HARD landings and the axle didnt even think about bending. I guess it is luck of the draw and on my second one I have no complaints at all.

vAnS_77
04-05-2009, 08:32 AM
Just stop being cheap and an rpm or an lsr.....It's worth the guarantee. If they bend they will give you a new one everytime!

DirtMonkey
04-05-2009, 09:17 AM
G-Force will replace it everytime to and both of those axles that you have mentioned have bent and broke also. I am beginning to think its not the brand of axle just the quality of manufacturing on any particular single piece.

vAnS_77
04-05-2009, 11:53 AM
Was the durablue hollow? I'm pretty sure none of the other axles are hollow....Thats pretty bad how much they rip you off.

im 220lbs. ride a full mx 450R and i went with the gforce based off a test i saw where it come in 2nd place with all the top dollar axles. This thing is a beast. Ive taken it over 100ft with some hard messed up landings and i cant kill this thing. It does seem to have a little shake on the road but im not sure if its in the axle or tires. For 200 bones i cant complain :D

04-16-2009, 02:43 AM
I believe someone posted where they've had more than 2 replaced.....

DirtMonkey
04-16-2009, 09:45 AM
ATVMASTER0927, G-Force will replace or straighten your axle for free EVERYTIME as long as the damage is not from improper installation or misuse. I called RM to make sure.

DirtMonkey
05-04-2009, 05:19 PM
I took my wheeler to the track I bent my G-Force on in the first place and it bent again. What I am trying to figure out is why it bent on this track and not the one with the bigger jumps. Oh well looks like ill be spending another 40 bucks on shipping to get another one. This Sucks!
