Just make sure the oil you use doesn't say "energy conserving" on the circular SAE label. These oils have additives that will eventually ruin your clutch.

I use Amsoil motorcycle oil (10W-40) and it works great.

I use the Amsoil 100% synthetic. I didn't even know Amsoil made a semi-synthetic.
It appears you don't know much about the product that you chose to comment on.

Amsoil isn't cheap. But, it is a very good product. I use it to give that extra bit of protection to my engines. And, in all the ATV's and motorcycles that I've owned, it has never let me down.

...that's why we have Mercedes cars and
and Kia's..... there's one to fit everyone's budget and desire for quality.

I'm going to run AMSOIL FS. I'm only going to change it once a year, although I only race motocross.

Synthetic with a wet clutch??? isn't that a bad thing?

It shouldn't be if it is approved for wet clutch usage.

I've been running Amsoil full synthetic oils in my ATV's and motorcycles for 10 years and no problems.

The important point is that you have to check the SAE label on the oil container. If it says "energy conserving", then the oil has additives that will eventually cause the clutch plates to slip. Check a few quarts of motor oil like Pennzoil, or Mobil 1 and you'll see what I mean. The SAE label is a round circle that has the viscosity printed in it. Some say "energy conserving" and some don't.

I just paid $8 a quart for HP 4. I figured it was only two quarts. I need to go check all the 5 gallon buckets of Pennzoil racing synthetic I got when the Camaro was sponsored by them:D
