the magnum stg 2 has more lift and duration than the hc stg 3 and is only $89 on ebay. a guy on here had one and said it was the hardest pulling one he ever rode. also get the kibblewhite springs the stock springs will not last forever with a high lift cam.

i think on a stock motor a stg 1 would be best......

ya but then your stuck into a stg1. if you go stage 2 as you mod your quad with pipes, carbs, keys, ect. the cam will come in more and more. theres a guy on here with a stock bore and has the stg 3 HC and loves it. none of the cams suck it all has to do with riding style. if you want to trail ride and climb hills at low rpm go stg 1. if you want to rip down the trail and blast over hills go stg2. if you ride large open areas at high speed go stg 3

agreed, the stage 2 wont hurt ur stock motor and will let your bike progress without having to worry about stepping the cam up again later..

i know stage 1 and 2 can be used on a stock motor. but stage 3 is a stroker cam according to hotcams. i thought you couldnt run that on a stock motor?

cam on stock motor = compression loss

I like stage 1 best. Its close to the GT Thunder and HRC cam just alittle more aggressive I believe. Its not like you lose any top end with it, deffinately way more punch compared to the stock cam. Good all around cam everywhere on the powerband has more power. Stage 2 is nice but I like the low end punch of Stage 1. I bought a 4 stroke because I dont like the 2 stroke powerband where most power comes up top I like the torquey feeling the 4 strokes have and a broad range of power. I do alot of higher RPM riding but times when your trying to slide a turn and the gear your in has the right speed coming in down low but wont break the tires loose powering trough it and the next gear down is too short you need the low end to be in the higher gear and break the tires free. Sometimes you will be lugging before a jump and need the low pick up otherwise you will nose dive. Just my reasoning why I like stage 1 best.

im sorta new. compression loss? wouldnt that mean loss of power? it hought these cams added power

yes adding a cam losses compression which is why a lot of people up the compression when they put a cam in.

if i were you id go stage 2 if you plan on ever doing any motor work to it or else id just stick with a stage 1.
