05 yfz carb question.

i took apart my carb on 05 yfz and found a seal broken thats called a valve body seal.can anybody tell me what this valve body does? ive looked close at it and cant figure out exactly what it does.with the seal broken the bike actually runs pretty good,it has a small backfire at mid throttle when u rev it up.thats what i was trying to fix,but i used yama bond to seal it up and now it runs worse.can anybody give me info on what this thing does?

Are you sure that is what it is called? I just looked at a service manual and there isn't a valve body seal listed that I can see.

inside the carb there is a slide with 4 wheels on it that controls the needle valve,this thing hooks onto this slider and has a rubber seal.no not for sure thats the term the book will use.
